Customer service skills is one of the main things that Home Depot has truly truly helped me out with. Merchandising is a very physical job. I have never had a 401K on any job I’ve ever had and this one was the first. They are taking care of me and I thank them for that every day. Vacation time and the company is very good if you need a day off. You have a store of people that are willing to help you accomplish your goal. The kind of problems I solve are anything mundane from how to fix a sink.
You do earn vacation after a year and you also do earn sick time. Everybody treats everybody around here like their friend. It’s just all around a good company to work for. Home Depot has a lot of good core values and is community driven which is most important for them. They also provide a good leave policy for their employees which help them take vacation leaves also. Finally, it is one’s choice and experience based to love their job and their workplace.
And Home Depot dress code does not contain a full outfit. It is just a basic apron which has to be worn over their regular clothes. So, if you are working at Home Depot then you have to wear their dress code at the workplace. For example, Home Depot stores employees can wear their dress code in their casual outfits like slacks, jeans, shorts, etc. Additionally, all the full-time employees at Home Depot have working hours of nearly 8 hours per day.
You’re not just doing one thing, you’re doing several things at one time. When I started working here, I thought it was going to be like any other job, where they just like okay you are just another worker, but not here. Our main focus is getting product in front of customers quickly.
